Watching out for your home in bad winter weather


Bad winter weather can wreak havoc on your home, how do you prevent serious damage?

First, get the snow off of any natural gas or electrical equipment with a shovel, now a blower. Make sure to stay far away from any down power lines and keep a home emergency kit in a convenient location.

KDVR said, “Do not use a heater with cables or plugs that are worn or damaged. Never leave a space heater unattended and do not sleep with a space heater on.” 

Always monitor the weather in the winter so you can have some time to prepare, stock up on food, and put away any outdoor items that could blow away in heavy winds.
