Are you making the most of storage options in your home?
It can seem like no matter how much storage you have, there is never enough.
Utilizing small, unused spaces can make all the difference when trying to stay organized. Get creative!
Creative spaces to turn into storage
Homes have a lot of unused space that could be used for storage!
Have you considered adding a shelf over the door? Using the space behind a door? Reader’s Digest said, “The space behind a door is a storage spot that’s often overlooked. Build a set of shallow shelves and mount it to the wall behind your laundry room door.”
Additionally, you could be using small spaces in the kitchen for things like spices! Narrow spice racks can fit nicely next to your cabinets or your refrigerator.
Areas and items that can be used differently
How often is your suitcase sitting empty? Use that space! Suitcases are perfect storage for seasonal clothes.
Your bed frame is another area that is overlooked. Put some drawers under your bed or store things in a trundle if you only use it when guests visit! Apartment Therapy recommended, “Buy a new storage bed, DIY an under-the-bed storage solution, or raise your current bed and add storage containers.”
Take a walk around your house and try to determine where you could improve storage. With a little creativity, you can make it work!
