Should you decorate with warm tones or cool tones?

The colors that you decorate with set the tone of your home.

Some people prefer cool tones while others go with a warm color scheme.

Which one should you choose?

Today we’ll cover the two options to help you figure out which one suits your home.

Cool tones

Homes decorated with cool tones like blues, greens, and purples tend to be calming. These colors look great in a beach home or with modern styles.

These can also make a home seem larger, formal, or soothing.

However, The Spruce said, “Though we all want to feel relaxed in our homes, a dominant cool color scheme may not work well if you have a very vibrant personality. If this describes you, try incorporating cool colors as accent colors and go with a warmer, more energetic shades as your dominant colors.”

Warm Tones

Warm tones like red, orange, and gold are fun and funky.

Home Designing said, “Even just the mere sight of this family of hues can make us feel warmer ourselves; they remind us of firelight, sunshine and sandy beaches. Warm colours have the power to make a room feel more intimate and cosy, by visually drawing in the walls of wide spaces.”

This is a great option for accent walls or bohemian spaces.

If you want to make a room look bigger, though, cool tones might be the better choice.

Overall, many people choose either warm tones or cool tones, But don’t feel tied to that! You can also mix warm tones and cool tones for a beautiful and visually interesting space.
