With the spread of COVID-19 impacting everything from border crossings to business, a vast majority of us have been forced to work from home. So what can we do to stay healthy, focused, and productive while working out of your home office during these odd times? Here are 9 working from home tips to follow…
Get started early
Try to dive into your to do list right when you wake up. Get a project started first thing in the morning. By doing this, it’ll allow your to make progress on it gradually throughout the day.
Being locked down can result in sloth-like behaviour. By exercising during your would-be commute time to start the day will give you more energy and boost your system right away. There are exercise streams you can watch, or just go for good walk or run.
Pretend like you are going into the office
Wake up. Shower. Get changed. Eat. Exercise. Do all the things you would do on a normal work morning. You don’t have to put on office clothes of course but at least do your work in fresh clothes.
Have a dedicated workspace

Eat healthy and have a decent lunch
Snacking all day can be an easy temptation but try to avoid this if you can. Healthy snacks are okay but a decent lunch break can keep you focused and sane throughout the day.
Ease the social media urge
Instagram? Twitter? Snapchat? Facebook? Just say no (at least during the day). Well, maybe for a few minutes here or there but for the most part, try to avoid your social pleasures throughout the day.

Determine your hours and determine how flexible your work hours are. It is important to determine the rules that your employer gave when working from home.
Plan social interactions
Because you are sitting at your desk the whole day, try and give yourself time with friends and family to feel less lonely.
Sign off at the same time each day
In lieu of coworkers, whose packing up usually reminds you to do the same, set an alarm at the end of the day to indicate your normal work day is coming to an end.
